Hello, I wondered if anyone can help with this question. We have had server problems for a while at work and last night it was altered to allow more users onto the network. By doing this, some of the files have had to be moved around - in particular our main project folder which contains all our drawings. All the drawings have xref files attached and normally can pick up succesfully in the search path, however, as the work has been moved to another location altogether it is now not picking up any xrefs on any projects. I know what they are and where they are to reload them but it will be a mammoth task as there are many projects that are live at the moment. Is there a quick way that I can get the drawings to succesfully pick up the xrefs?
This is a very long winded question but I would be very grateful of any help if it can save us time here!
Thanks, Coll

You can either use the
PROJECTNAME mechanism to alternative paths or rather perform repathing of the xref references. You can use REFMAN for batch operations.

hello, thanks for this. I'm just having a look over now. The projectname command works in 2009 - what would I enter as my new value in the "" would it be the actual project name and does this cause the xref to then be associated with the drawing.
Many thanks, Coll

You can set your projectname and associate a search path with it - using the Files section of the Options dialog. But this is more a temporary solution - repathing and possibly using relative paths for Xrefs seems to be a more reliable way.
