Help! ive turned something off, when, i window an object to move or copy i lose the item when i need to pan dyn HELP!!!! thanx

Check the setting of both PICKFIRST and while you are at it PICKADD as well.  They should both be set to "1".

THANX. I tried both ways, 0 and 1 on both oickfirst and pickadd to no av-ale. thanx for your help. mike

PICKADD and PICKFIRST should always be set to a value of 1.

What program are we actually talking about?What else have you tried thus far?  No sense suggesting things you have already tried.Have you tried a REPAIR of the installation?

John thanx for the reply,the program im using is (autodesk autocad 2000)No i have not tried (repair), How does that work. im one of thoes " if it does not work i call my IT guy. he knows nothing about this program! i have used acad for years starting with R14,acad2000, acad 2006 lt,now Draftsight. Im not to smart when it does not work!!thanx Mike (tfhmrt@gmail.com)

The REPAIR option will require that you have the original installation media.  Do you still have the CD?

Ok I just found my copy of 2000i. if you will put up a small drawing that is doing what you described I will install autocad 2000i on an older computer and see if I recreate the effect.

You wouldn't be using any custom lisp routines would you?  Some poorly written routines will reset variables to run then forget to put them back to their original settings afterwards.
