Display full version of the post: Side View
i was asked a question about the given drawing. What would the side view look like given the top and front view. (there are no hidden lines but there are lines on top of other lines)If anyone could help me to figure this out i would appreciate it a lot
The 2 views are indicating a valley ("v" shape)with a ridge at the back.A right side view would show just the hidden line for the valley. It angles down from the top right corner, then hit level at 1" down.
or the vertical line could be a ridge and the 2 angled lines the hips
oops sorry, the first poster was correct. I only looked at the top view thinking you wanted the front view. I should really read the question properly
that would work for the given question if it allowed hidden lines. any ideas on the side view with no hidden lines but there are lines on top of lines
from looking at the drawings again, the side view would be exactly how you've shown it.
so lofty what your saying is that the side view would look just the same as it is? no lines in it just the boxes lines?
Correct
My only query on the front view is why there is that small central line running from top to bottom. This really shouldn't be there because on plan it shows a flat face as opposed to one with an angle.
There are a couple of hidden lines but I'm guessing you don't need to show them. They would run from the middle of the left hand line to the centre of the square, then from the centre of the square to the top right hand corner. i.e like where two pitched roofs join at a valley gutter.
yeah i thought the same thing but the guy who gave me the question says there is no hidden lines and he has a part that when i get it right he will show me the part. ill ask him about it and let you know
..
I'll try, how about this? :)
rman.. i though the same thing at first but when i showed him that sketch a few weeks ago he reminded me that he said there are no hidden lines
Hmm that's tricky, possibly a magic box..? lol.
Sorry, i've no idea.. :)
