Hello AutoCAD users I have a strange issue. I can open my existing Tower Crane drawing and there everything is like it should be, the blocks, layers but when I try to insert that same drawing into another drawings some things are gone. If I double click on it to open/edit that one block it still shows some of it and some objects are not there. I have looked through my Layer manager to verify all my layers are on and they are and they are. Still nothing "Has anyone ever come across this problem? Please tell me how to fix it. I am using AutoCAD 2013. HELP!Brent

Was the drawing originally done in AutoCAD?Upload a copy; maybe someone here will be kind enough to check it out and tell you what they encountered.

Hello brentatterton, here is how to upload a new block ( file ).

You can upload and attach both DWG and ZIP files to a post as long as they do not exceed 500KB in size by first clicking on the Full Reply Editor icon above the Message Box.  At the next screen you click on the File Upload icon.  Think you can handle that or do you need further instructions?

purti: How is the Purge command going to make objects that appear to be missing reappear?  What would make you even suggest that as a solution?

Hellow, Dear purge command is use to close then unnecessary layer in file and which layers use in file will go in another drg. for this command you can reduce the load of file and also object will shown in another file, i also use this in layout drawings many time where plot size of layout in km's and file become too heavy and help of that you can reduce the load and also object will show in another drawing.......

The PURGE command does NOT make objects that are not appearing in the Block Editor suddenly reappear.  The PURGE command is used to delete UNREFERENCED entities like blocks, layers, linetype definitions, etc.  By deleting unreferenced entities the drawing file size should decrease.  One can also reduce file size by running the OVERKILL command to delete overlapping and duplicate lines.  Users should also consider running the AUDIT command to correct any errors to the drawing database.By the way, the command line version of PURGE should be used.  This requires the insertion of a dash < - > before the command like this: -purge.  Recommended procedure is to purge Regapps first then rerun the command and do a purge All.

brent: Did you figure out what the problem was?  Will you be uploading the DWG file or not?
