If you want to have smaller (more compact) VRML 3D files from your AutoCAD, Architectural or Mechanical Desktop, and Inventor - and if your VRML viewer supports .WRZ files (compressed VRML, e.g. Cortona), you can compress your uncompressed .WRL files from the VRMLout and VRML Translator applications using GZIP (www.gzip.org) - just run e.g. GZIP -9 myfile.wrl and rename the resulting myfile.wrl.gz back to myfile.wrz.
