Selection problem in Object properties window (OPM) in AutoCAD 2002 (and higher).

Object properties manager displays "No selection" when I select an entity. Object properties in toolbars/ribbons do not show properties (layer, color) of the currently selected object(s).

Please check if the PICKFIRST variable is set to 1. Another reason may be in too low value for the object limit in the Properties palette - check the setting of the PROPOBJLIMIT variable (see also Options > Selection > Object limit). The maximum value is 32767.

Make sure you are not using any Registry-cleaning utility (e.g. Addregclean). Also make sure the Autodesk 360 service is installed.
