This error can occur when trying to print to a DesignJet plotter from AutoCAD 2000 in Windows XP (or Windows 2000).

AutoCAD 2000 is not supported on Windows 2000 nor Windows XP and several problems can arise. To solve this particular problem you can try to apply the PlotUpdate patch (plotting update) for AutoCAD 2000 (see DL Download).
