For plotting and printing you my need to process existing plot files (print file) - usually with the .PLT and .PRN extensions. These files are in the format of the particular print device (HPGL2, PCL5, RTL, PS...).
You can print/plot such files with a simple DOS command COPY /B but there is also a much easier and comfortable tool. The free (donationware) utility Govert's GoPlot is a useful tool for controlling print queues of plotters and printers. You can use it to prepare large queues of print jobs - suitable e.g. for fast HP DesignJet plotters or HP Edgeline printers.
The GoPlot utility allows to simply add PLT/PRN files to the plot queue (with mouse dragging, or importing a file list), set the print order, number of copies, media type, margins and other print parameters. You can also force cutting, printing of job seperation banners, displaying job name (or shortened job name) on the plotter panel, or choose a roll on multi-roll plotter versions. You can also postpone your print job - schedule it for later time.
