Standard 3D solids support grip editing plus vertex- and edge-editing when selected (clicked) with the CTRL key (sub-object selection).

This behavior can be limited by several circumstances:

  1. Base solids with removed modelling history cannot be edited using grips. History can be removed e.g. with the BREP command.
  2. AutoCAD 2007 does not allow grip editing on objects placed more than 10.000 units from the origin [0,0,0].
  3. Selecting vertices and edges with the CTRL key can be suppressed by setting the LEGACYCTRLPICK variable to 1.
