How to place an unprintable entity in a drawing?

A - answer Anything you draw in a layer marked as unprintable (see Layer Manager, AutoCAD 2000 and on) will be visible only on screen not on paper.
In older versions of AutoCAD you can draw this kind of entities to layer DEFPOINTS.
