How to unfold 3D model (e.g. sheetmetal) into 2D?

A - answer This functionality is included in Autodesk Inventor. For AutoCAD or Mechanical Desktop you have to use some add-on application.

E.g. SPI Sheetmetal ( can unfold AutoCAD 3D solid models or MDT parametric models (or even lofted NURBS freeform surfaces) with all technological parameters for bending corrections, checks, etc.
