Revit 2013 or 2014 crashes just after launch with the error message:
An unrecoverable error has occurred. The program will now be terminated. All of your data has been recently saved, so there is no need to create recovery files.

You have probably not installed Revit as a user, but it was installed for you by an Administrator or as a network deployment, and at the same time you are using one of the plug-in applications from Autodesk Apps Exchange.
This problem is caused by improper setting of access priviledges to the "manifest" file, too low user access rights to the file PackageContents.xml created by the Apps Exchange installator. This file is included in all modern add-on applications for Revit.
So it is neccessary to locate all files PackageContents.xml in the path C:\ProgramData\Autodesk\ApplicationPlugins\…\ and check (and probably elevate) their access priviledges for the current user.
