The AutoCAD functions (commands) SHAREDESIGNVIEW (in AutoCAD 2017/2018) and the new SHAREVIEW differ primarily in the possibilities of cooperation and in sharing principles.

Both features are intended for publishing of 2D and 3D CAD content into a secure cloud storage for easy sharing with collaborators.

The older function "Share design" just publishes your DWG drawing (in its source format) to the A360 cloud and activates the online viewer for this CAD data. In the web browser environment, you or your colleagues can then comment, redline and share the comments about this design (co-operation). But the DWG file itself is not downloadable.

The new function "Share view" publishes just a view of your source data - a publishing file .collaboration - to the cloud storage (the DWG file never leaves your computer). Then it creates a 30-day shareable URL address to hand over to your cooperators. They can then comment, redline and measure your CAD design in a plain web browser environment. But here you can see their reactions immediately inside the "SHARED VIEWS" palette inside your AutoCAD session so you can react directly. In the palette, you can see a complete history - comments, redline, discussion, captures - of all shared CAD documents. On sharing you can setup whether the properties of the individual drawing objects are also published. See the Tip 11835.
