Wrong license cascading on Inventor in Product Design Suite 2017.

When you combine network licenses of Autodesk Product Design Suite Premium and Ultimate 2017, wrong license cascading may apply and running Inventor 2017 from these suites always consumes the PrDS Ultimate license from the AdLM license server (even when a Premium license should be enough).

To solve this problem, apply the Service Pack 1 (SP1; or higher) for Inventor 2017 installed on the respective workstations.

Another option is changing the product edition in the INI file Inventor.ini located in the folder C:\Program Files\Autodesk\Inventor 2017\Bin. Using Notepad (and as the Administrator) edit the ProductEdition value to INVNTOR (plain Inventor) resp. to INVPROSA (Inventor Professional) and save the INI file. Then restart the network version of Inventor.
