If you open a master DWG drawing with xrefs placed on a network drive and some xrefs are reported as "unresolved", it can be caused by the following:
- the referenced file was not found in a given path - your share was renamed, the relative path does not match, or the file is temporarily unavailable on the network
- if you are using AutoCAD 2013, apply the Service Pack 1 or higher
- the xref DWG file may be corrupted or was ot saved from an Autodesk product - perform Audit
- the xref DWG file may contain excessive annotaton scales (e.g. thousands of them), delete excessive scales
- it can be a network hardware problem (server, router, LAN card) - try to open the xrefs locally
