The cloud application Autodesk Project Photofly (now "123D Catch") can be used to convert a series of photos of a real-world object to a 3D point cloud describing the object. Using this way, you can reconstruct the object as a 3D model (e.g. in a DWG file).
Besides the standard use for modeling of building objects, you can use PhotoFly also for inner spaces - for rooms and patios (courtyards).
Just make sure that you shoot each wall from the opposite one, keeping really, really enough overlap between adjacent pictures (see below), and shooting at least 30 to 40 pictures for an entire room or courtyard. Use wide-angle lens for shooting indoor pictures. See the screen shot as an example:
If the walls are uniform, try to stick random patterns on them, so that the stitching engine can automatically find some high contrast features to extract and to match (and these features have to be "seen" from 4 different camera angles - see overlaps). All the same applies for the floor.
