How to change AutoCAD serial number?

If you want to change the existing serial number of your already installed AutoCAD (without reinstallation), you can do it in the product's About box.

Go to Help > About AutoCAD > Product Information and to display the license dialog and click Update. Enter your new serial number. Then click Activate and follow the on-screen instructions to activate the new license.

You can use this approach to e.g. change your old student-version to a newly purchased commercial version of AutoCAD.
