How to import an STL, OBJ or 3DS file to an AutoCAD 3D model?
A - answer For importing 3D models in "mesh" formats STL, OBJ, 3DS and OFF, you can use freeware application Mesh-In, which uses the Javascript library Three.js and the Javascript interface of AutoCAD.

Download the MeshIn application from Download, load it into AutoCAD using APPLOAD and type the MESHIN command. Then drag your .STL or .OBJ file into the Mesh-In palette and click the "E" icon. This will generate a 3D model in the form of 3D faces (3DFACE). The model file is stored sent anywhere, the conversion is performed internally by this tool. For more complex models, the conversion may take several minutes.

You can also use the STL2DWG web service for online conversion.
