Use the ADCNAVIGATE command and specify the target folder name or filename - e.g. c:\Documents or d:\Drawings\SampleDrawing.DWG.

You can even directly specify the displayed symbols (symbol table) - layers, blocks, text styles...:
d:\Drawings\SampleDrawing.DWG/layers
