Q - question

How to change the Today bulletin board location for network installs?

A - answer If you want to pre-define or change the BBS file (or URL/HTML) location for network installations of AutoCAD (or similar product), use the following steps.

To predefine the location in the installation image, edit the file:
\\mydeploymentserver\Autocad\image\Support\CMC.DAT
and change the line:
Today_CMCUrl=\\mywebserver\mybulletinboard.htm
For existing clients you can change the BBS location in Windows Registry - e.g. by distributing a .REG file (e.g. using the existing Today board location). Publish a HREF link (call it "switch to the new Today") to a .REG file - text file containing e.g.:

REGEDIT4:

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Autodesk\AutoCAD\R15.0\ACAD-1:405\Profiles\<< Unnamed profile>>\General Configuration]
"Today_CMCUrl"="http://www.cadforum.cz/cadforum_en/today.asp"
("1:405" may differ for your product version)

AutoCAD needs to be restarted to use the new Today locaction.
