In the Registry, change the value of LOADCTRLS in:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Autodesk\AutoCAD\R15.0\ACAD-x:xxx\Applications\AcMap
or
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Autodesk\AutoCAD\R16.2\ACAD-4002:xxx\Applications\AcMap
from 7 to 5.

You may also need to lower the DEMANDLOAD value to avoid loading of ARX modules.
