Typically: you are trying to open a drawing from a newer ADT (or LDT) version in older Architectural Desktop (or Land Desktop). Or your drawing contains Xrefs in a newer DWG format.

Save back the original DWG file in an older DWG format, or explode the AEC objects to plain AutoCAD entities (see also ExportoToAutocad).
