Q - question

Copy/Paste fails in a DWG2000 file saved from AutoCAD 2007.

A - answer When you open a DWG file (in the DWG2000 format), saved from AutoCAD 2007, in AutoCAD 2000, 2000i, or 2002, the clipboard functions Copy, Cut and Paste and WBlock/Insert may fail.

Apply the ACDB17.DLL fix for AutoCAD 2007 - see Download.

You can also apply the DL7450124 hotfix for AutoCAD 2007 (or related CAD application), or the Service Pack 1 (or higher). Then resave the DWG file to the R14/2000 format. This applies also for the Autodesk DWG TrueConvert.

To find the affected DWG files you can use the "2000 from 2007 Find Utility" (see the hotfix).
