If you need to process your DWG drawing in a different CAD application (GIS, Revit, ...), it may be necessary to first convert Shape-type objects (SHX/SHP files) to other, more standard object types.

You can do this with the SHP2BLK Express Tool. The selected shape is translated to a standard block reference, with the identical insertion point.
