Q - question

Can I upgrade my CAD/PDM server to Windows Server 2019?

A - answer Typical components installed on servers in a CAD environment are:

  • License manager - AdLM
  • Vault Server

So before you upgrade to a new server OS, make sure first, that your versions of these components are compatible with Microsoft Windows Server 2019.

The Autodesk Network License Manager (AdLM) in the version for the "2021" product family, ie. version 11.16.2.0, is compatible with Windows Server 2019 - see Tip 8604. But its older version are not compatible. So first update your AdLM to the new version - see Download.

The Autodesk Vault Server (ADMS) in the version 2021 is compatible with Windows Server 2019. Older Vault versions are not. See Vault - system requirements.
