Q - question

Comparing design versions in Autodesk Fusion.

A - answer The CAD/CAM software Autodesk Fusion offers the ability to compare different versions of your 3D design, a model or assembly. You can easily see which components or features of your model were added, removed, or changed at different stages of a design - that may have been collaborated on by multiple designers.

You invoke the function from your web hub (Fusion Team) - that is, through the "View Design Details" link from the Data Panel. The comparison function is somewhat hidden in the Fusion Team web browser window. You can find it under the version number select box (the version numbers correspond to the numbering in the History in the Fusion Data Panel). At the top of the list, click on the "Compare Versions" icon and select the two versions to be compared. Fusion must already have view representations of these versions, so you may need to fully view them at least once first.

You can then interactively move around in the visual comparison window to color-code the changed design elements. You can also export a CSV list with a summary of the changes.
