Question CAD

Q - question

Faster loading of assemblies and projects in networks.

A - answer When loading larger assebmlies, models and projects over a network, Inventor or AutoCAD or other CAD application may react slowly. This is caused by accessing a high number of network files (xrefs, assembly parts...). Due to the default setting of Windows network parameters, these files may load slowly.

You can make this operations faster (increase performance) by increasing buffers for TCP/IP network operations (on the client computer; for older NT servers also on the server). Using the REGEDIT tool set (add) in the Registry in:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\LanmanServer\Parameters

the value:

SizReqBuf DWORD:14596 (decimal)

You can also further increase the SizReqBuf value - e.g. twice. This will increasy the memory for the buffer of network work items (WorkItem). The memory requirements will go higher but you will substantially increase the performance of file transfers.

Restart your computer and check the higher performance of network operations.
