Q - question

Four ways for rotating 3D view in Inventor.

A - answer Inventor user interface offers 4 different ways of invoking 3D view rotation in the model of your part or assembly.

  1. Ribbon - View > Navigate > Orbit
  2. F4 - hold the F4 key to invoke the orbit function (you can also map the F4-key to a button on your multi-button mouse).
  3. Shift+mouse wheel - a faster method of changing 3D views is the combination of the Shift key with the middle button (wheel) on your mouse
  4. 3D mouse - the fastest and most logical way of 3D orbitting in Inventor is using a 3D mouse (3D controller) - e.g. one of the 3Dconnexion mice

For fixed 3D views you can also use the 3D ViewCube icon
