Q - question

Mass property depending on the current LOD in an Inventor assembly.

A - answer You can display and print the accurate value of the assembly MASS depending on the currently selected level of detail (LOD). Such mass value can by also used as a dynamic variable on the drawing sheet - e.g. in the title block.

How to proceed:

Activate the Level of Detail you want to process. Open iProperties of the assembly and go to the Physical tab. Here click the Update button. You will get the warning message: "Do you want to calculate the Mass Properties for the Master Level of Detail?" or "In order to compute accurate mass properties, portions of some suppressed components must be loaded." Click "No" on such prompt. This will calculate the assembly mass value respecting the suppressed state of invisible components in the current LOD. If you would select Yes, the "Master" LOD will be used calculating all the assembly components.
