In AutoCAD 2006 (and higher) you can evaluate mathematical expressions entered in dialog boxes and palettes.

In dialog fields asking for a numerical value (e.g. DIMSTYLE) you can enter expressions like:

=22/3+1
=sin(0.5)
=d2r(45)
=cvunit(10,yd,m)
=MyLISPvariable+1
In the field then press the End (since 2006sp1 the Alt+Enter) keyboard button and the expression is evaluated (computed) like in the AutoCAD QuickCalc calculator. This behaviour can be suppressed with the CALCINPUT system variable.

For older AutoCAD versions you can use e.g. AutoCAD Assistant.
