What file formats are supported by Autodesk VIZ 2008?
A - answer The visualization application Autodesk VIZ 2008 can process and convert (besides its native formats .MAX and .DRF) also the following file formats:

Import: .CHR (Character Studio), .3DS/.PRJ (3D Studio), .AI (Illustrator), .DEM/.DDF (LandXML), .DWG/.DXF (AutoCAD), .FBX/.DAE (Autodesk/Collada), .IGS (IGES), .IPT/.IAM (Autodesk Inventor), .LS/.VW/.LP (LightScape), .SHP (3D Studio), .STL (Stereolithography), .WRL/.WRZ (VRML), .XML (VIZ material).

Export: .3DS (3D Studio), .AI (Illustrator), .ASE (ASCII scene), .ATR (LS material), .BLK (LS block), .DF (LS parameter), .DWF (Autodesk), .DWG/.DXF (AutoCAD), .FBX/.DAE (Autodesk), .IGS (IGES), .LAY (LS layer), .LP (LS preparation), .STL (Stereolithography), .VW (LS view), .W3D (Shockwave 3D), .WRL (VRML97).

Besides these formats VIZ supports also many raster and animation formats for material textures and rendering output.
