Q - question

Can I use Linux as a file server for AutoCAD?

A - answer In principle you can use Unix/Linux server with the Samba or Netmax applications as a file server for AutoCAD drawings, but expect problems with file names and file-locking when opening and saving.

AutoCAD (but also Inventor, Map or Civil) works with network files (with file-locking) in a slightly different way than most other Windows applications.
