Q - question

How to create your own RFT file (Revit Family Template)?

A - answer Did any of you need to prepare a custom Revit family template - a .RFT file, but ran into the problem that Revit doesn't have a built-in option to save this type of file?

The solution is more than simple, create your own RFT as a classic family and save it also as a classic family (RFA file). Then just overwrite the name of the extension of this file rfa from:

name_family.rfa to name_template_family.rft

* don't forget to uncheck the "Hide known file extensions" in the Windows Explorer options
