Q - question

How to explode 3D faces (3DFACE) into outline polyline?

A - answer You can explode a 3D object consisting of 3D faces (3DFACE entities) into the individual 3D outlines of triangles or quadrilaterals using the LISP utility 3DF2L.

Download the .LSP file from the Download section, load it using APPLOAD and type the 3DF2L command. Select the 3D and Polyline modes. The individual outlines will consist of closed 2D polylines (LWPOLYLINE) placed in separate UCSs oriented on the surface of the 3D object. In Line mode, individual outline lines will be created. The exploded geometry will be created in the "3DF2L" layer.
