Q - question

Insert or update a specific block from another DWG drawing.

A - answer Using the freeware utility CopyBlockE you can insert any selected block from another (unopened) DWG file into your AutoCAD drawing. If such a block is already present, it will be updated from that external drawing.

Download CopyBlockE from Download, load it using APPLOAD and run it with COPYBLOCKE. Select the source DWG file and select the block you want to transfer (copy, "steal") from the dialog. If a block of the same name is already defined in the drawing, it will be updated from the source. Any attribute values will be preserved.

If the Insert option is enabled, after the block definition is transferred, the block will also be inserted as a reference. Dynamic blocks are also supported.

Since version 1.1, tha last used source folder is remembered.
