Q - question

Error: Some or all of the family files you selected cannot be loaded.

A - answer When trying to load a RFA family file into Revit, you get the error message:

Some or all of the family files you selected cannot be loaded. You must choose family files of the category XYZ. Do you want to retry loading a new set of files?

You are probably trying to load a specific type of family from a running insert command - e.g. inserting a new window type from the Window command. To load any type of RFA file to your current project, use the command Insert > Load from Library > Load Family.
