Q - question

How to dimension radius and center of a spline in a given point?

A - answer AutoCAD cannot directly dimension a local radius of a spline curve. But you can use the following steps:
  • First explode the curve to arc segments with the command FLATTEN from Express Tools.
  • Now run the Dimension tool and hover on a given point on the curve to display (or draw) a local radius and and center point.

See the video:

If you need a better precision than in FLATTEN, set the variable PLINECONVERTMODE to 1, run the command SPLINEDIT with the option _Poly and specify the precision of the conversion - spline to arc segments.

In the case of spline alignments in Civil 3D you can also use the interactive command "Alignment curvature" (csct_SpiralDyn) from the add-on CADstudio Civil Tools.
