How to extract isolines from a surface of a 3D object?

A - answer With the command SURFEXTRACTCURVE cou can create a spatial surface curve on a 3D solid or 3D surface. Select the source 3D object and use the Direction option to switch the U, V isoline direction to extract the requested curve.

The resulting curve is a spline for smooth sorfaces. Use the SPLINEDIT command to convert it to a polyline. See the example of a blue polyline and the original purple spline:
