If you have multiple Autodesk GIS products installed (versions and types - e.g. AutoCAD Map, Civil, AIMS), you have probably also multiple copies of the shared library with the definitions of geospatial coordinate systems (the .CSD files).

This library is stored in the folder C:\Users\All Users\Autodesk\Geospatial Coordinate Systems but you may have several copies of this folder (with number suffixes).

When you install new versions of GIS products, this folder gets automatically renumbered (backed up) - example:

  • Install Map 3D 2011 -> one “Geospatial Coordinate Systems” folder gets created.
  • Install Map 3D 2012 on top -> the “Geospatial Coordinate Systems” from 2011 get copied as backup and renamed to “Geospatial Coordinate Systems 2011”. The new folder 2012 is then used as “Geospatial Coordinate Systems” for both Map 3D 2011 AND Map 3D 2012.
  • Install Civil 3D 2012 or AIMS 2012 beside Map 3D 2011 and Map 3D 2012 -> You’ll have a new “Geospatial Coordinate Systems” folder from this latest installation, a “Geospatial Coordinate Systems 2011” as a backup from the 2011 installation and a a “Geospatial Coordinate Systems 2012” folder (backup from Map 3D 2012 installation).

For AIMS (Infrastructure Map Server) you can take the webconfig.ini and serverconfig.ini files where you can find the MentorDictionaryPath setting. Set it so that Map 3D, Studio *AND* AIMS use the same path i.e. coordinate system version.
