Q - question

Screenmenu also in new AutoCAD versions.

A - answer The screen menu (screenmenu) has been an unavailable element in the AutoCAD user interface since AutoCAD 2012. However, if you have an older add-on application that uses this UI element, or you need to use the classic screen menu for other purposes, you can re-enable it in new versions of AutoCAD.

First, you need to make this element available. The SCREENMENU variable is no longer valid by default, but you can re-access it - as with other deprecated legacy commands - using the REDEFINE command, i.e. _REDEFINE SCREENMENU. You can then turn this variable on by typing its name - or just use (setvar "SCREENMENU" 1) - which will cause the screen menu element to appear:

You can edit the individual items and customize this menu either using the old menu definition (text) files - i.e. .MNU/.MNS (section "***SCREEN"), or in the "Legacy Elements > Screen Menus" section of the CUI command dialog. Make sure this menu is included in your current workspace.
