I am seeking advice regarding what software or suite of softwares I should use for a very specific manufacturing process.

Essentially, the design would be for PVC inflatable pool toys. I would like to be able to design the product in 3D by chamber, and then in some way, flatten/spread out the 3D design so it can be printed and cut out of sheets. It would be awesome if I had the ability to also incorporate the actual graphic design into the same software, but if not, that wouldn't be a deal breaker.

Does anyone have similar experiences with this type of design that can recommend a place to start?
