Topic: True scaled publishing to jpeg format Posted: 10.Jan.2010 at 05:24 |
Hi friends,
I am making a big balloon, attaching many petals together, each petal is an elliptical shape. I have made the drawing in the AutoCad and I have to plot the file in jpeg format, which I can take to the big printer and take print. The dimensions of the drawing are really big, its 200x60 inch. No standard paper has this dimensions and in AutoCad its showing only the standard paper size. Could you guys pls help me if there is any other feather using which I can export the drawing in its true scale to jpeg? Thanks. |

Raster files have usually no "scale" in CAD terms. They are sized by a number of pixels (unitless). Commercial printers usually understand PDF or DWF files (both can be scaled 1:1).
With the Design Review viewer you can also tile a big DWF drawing to smaller overlapping tiles which can be printed on a standard printer (A3/A4).

Depending on your AutoCAD version - just
PUBLISH the drawing to DWF or PDF (in a proper scale). Design Review (free, see Download on this web site) can then tile the output (Ctrl+P) of the DWF file.

I usually use the AutoCAD print function. Hold Ctrl and press R will show you the print dialog. Choose "publish toweb jpg.pc3" from the list of paper size.
Now you need to decide the resolution setting of your printer, scanner...., if the default DPI setting is 100DPI of your printer, you can customize a new paper size for 20000 * 6000 pixels. And when you create the image, the scale should be 1:1 then. Sean
