Q - question

Do you properly ground the first component in your assembly?

A - answer When placing the first component (part) in your Inventor assembly, the component is not automatically grounded and placed to the origin of the coordinates system (0,0,0). You can use three methods to ground it:

  • With the function Place Grounded at Origin in the marking menu when placing the component:

  • Using the global setting Place and ground first component at origin (permanent) in the Application options, the Assembly tab:

  • Subsequent grounding of a component using the function Ground and Root Component in the ribbon panel Assembly > Productivity
