At my work we use 3d scanners for reverse engineering. It works OK with CAD programs (Solidworks mostly).
Yesterday, I tried to import one of the scanes to 3ds max (I used obj format). The problem is that whenever I try to do something with the model, the program keeps lagging or even crashes. Other meshes works good. Maybe I should change some settings while importing. Or maybe there are any ways to optimize the mesh before export? Software I use for scanning is Artec Studio. |
