    Posted: 17.Apr.2012 at 16:11
Hello,

I am using Inventor 2009 and struggling along with some large assemblies.  I have several sub assemblies that have wiring terminated with a connector for mating with motherboards.  I have found my self creating several copies of these assemblies (things like fans, solenoids etc) because the termination point can change depending on the parent assembly.  I also create a version for use in drawings with the wiring 'laid out' in a pictorial representation of the finished sub assembly to ease assembly on the shop floor.

I have tried using flexible assemblies and although the connector can be repositioned to the mating board, the wiring harness does not follow the pin.  Do wire harnesses move in flexible assemblies?  Does any one have any tips for dealing with wiring (and tubing for that matter) in sub assemblies that are used in multiple parent assemblies?

Thanks in advance,
Dave.
