Recently visited this site and I would not recommend it.

It appears to be set up and run by a guy who not only poses the questions but answers them himself.  And he awards points for doing so.  Guess who has the most points?

Although he claims to have a lot of experience with AutoCAD he doesn't seem very knowledgeable.  He misuses terminology and misspells it too.  Example: in talking about the X, Y and Z directions he calls them "plans" not "planes".  When he can't answer a question posed by one of the other 40 or so registered members he either leaves them blank or gives a half-assed answer like "This is explained in AutoCAD help" or "see Wikipedia" or "This goes beyond the purpose of this site.  You are asking for a small development."  What good is an AutoCAD question and answer website if it blows off your question, gives a lame response, or won't provide examples?

I give acadclass two thumbs down and a Bronx cheer.  AutoCAD users have better resources available to them than this bogus site.

Hi John, I am the guy, and I'll answer your remarks point by point:

The site has been setup less than a week ago. At the begining, a site is by definition empty of data. As a webmaster and creator of numerous sites, forums and social communities, my role is to give the boost needed for takeoff. So nothing surprising I guess the first posts are mine. When you'll create a site, you'll realize that to put an empty site online is not a good idea.

Quote And he awards points for doing so.  Guess who has the most points?

The platform I am using is based on user engagement and points are awarded to users who participate the most. Again, that in the first days, I have more points than other members is reassuring, that's a sure sign I have no been spammed by ficticious users. You'll notice that since your remarks here, some users are starting to contribute in a positive way to the site and one at least has already gained half of the points I have, unfortunately, it's not you.

Quote Although he claims to have a lot of experience with AutoCAD he doesn't seem very knowledgeable.

As I said to you, I have 30 years of experience with AutoCAD, as drafter, trainer, book writer, LISP and .NET programmer. I am also AUGI France webmaster. And yes I know the difference between BLOCK and WBLOCK if you see what I mean.

Quote He misuses terminology and misspells it too.

I am not an english native speaker. I apologize for any mistakes. If you encounter any, I'll appreciate you report them to me directly instead of doing that on other sites, that would be more honest and polite.

Quote Example: in talking about the X, Y and Z directions he calls them "plans" not "planes".

Thanks for pointing that, I'll correct it. This mistakes comes from the fact that in french the word is "plan".

Quote When he can't answer a question posed by one of the other 40 or so registered members he either leaves them blank or gives a half-assed answer like "This is explained in AutoCAD help" or "see Wikipedia" or "This goes beyond the purpose of this site.  You are asking for a small development."  What good is an AutoCAD question and answer website if it blows off your question, gives a lame response, or won't provide examples?

I already told you yesterday why, when you repeatedly spammed my site. General questions everyone can find an answer to by hitting the F1 key in AutoCAD are not the purpose of the site. The site is not a copy of AutoCAD help, this is clearly indicated in the FAQ.

Quote I give acadclass two thumbs down and a Bronx cheer.  AutoCAD users have better resources available to them than this bogus site.

Users will make their own mind as usual.

The sites owner spammed this at CadTutor also (http://www.cadtutor.net/forum/showthread.php?95048-AcadClass-AutoCAD-Q-amp-A-launched!).

The first Google search result for 'AcadClass' is this website Smile

Upon more googling I found his site and agree that it is well below the many CAD sites and forums available.

CadTutor has a section called "Useful links". You might jugde that letting know CAD users of a useful link is a spam, some other might think that a site that does not want useful links be posted does not have a useful links section.

After a week of existence, that's not surprising! But thanks for your comment.

I checked at CADTutor myself and did not find a link to AcadClass under the heading of "Links".  Additionally the thread that contained links to the site had them removed and the thread was closed to further comment.  Seems like the person who started the thread went to CADTutor for some free advertising and perhaps to redirect members to his website.  That is not the way to generate good will nor the way to persuade people to become members of one's website.

John,I do not dispute that you do not appreciate my new site, you are of course entitled to have your opinion and to express it. Myself I very often find sites I do not like, in that case I just don't visit them again and that's all.

Instead of doing that, you started on this forum a thread very negative not only about my site but about my professional qualifications. We are no longer talking about free expression of opinion but about defamation. I posted on this thread a reply point by point that has not been approved by the moderator, preventing me for answering your points.

I find it very unfair.

I again asked the webmaster of this forum, by mail and by LinkedIn messaging,  the right of reply, but he did not answer me. I do not know why you want to destroy the reputation of my work rather than to ignore it if you do not like, but know that I'm not willing to let you do it, for whatever reason. I kept track of all your actions on my site, those you have posted under the alias "Terminator" and other you posted anonymously. I proposed to the cadforum.cz webmaster to publish my response or to fully remove this thread (wich I find better). I am still waiting for his reply.

I have no idea what you are talking about re: defamation.  Maybe you should look up the definition.  Your site offers nothing that other sites didn't already offer long before you got the idea.  And they have done a much better job.

As regards the alias "Terminator" I've seen the movie but I don't know who is using that name at your website.  If I were to post to your site I would not be afraid to use my name.

May be a twin brother of yours, who knows? LOL Just a "ReMark"... I am fan of Terminator movie too BTW. Anyway, thanks for the 6 questions you asked on my site and the 14 answers you wrote, plus 12 comments, for a person who hates my site so much, that's not so bad... Wink
