There is no "free" version of AutoCAD. But there are some AutoCAD licenses which can be used for free - e.g. the Trial and Educational version of AutoCAD (just for schools and students), or DWG Trueview (viewer/converter version of AutoCAD), or the AutoCAD web app (cloud-based viewer, markup).

And there is the "almost free" version - AutoCAD LT.

There are also some AutoCAD clones (lookalikes) but with many reported compatibility issues.
