I have blocks that I created in design center that were moved to a new server. How can I remap the support path to the new server removing the old one? It currently searches for the old one which is taking up to much time.

You want to change the default startup directory for AutoCAD® DesignCenter™.

Solution

Use the ADCNAVIGATE command to change the default startup directory for AutoCAD DesignCenter.

To set the default startup directory for DesignCenter:

  1. Type adcnavigate on the command line and press ENTER.
  2. Enter the default startup location.
  3. Press ENTER.

Following are the valid directories for AutoCAD DesignCenter:

  • Drive letter and path: for example, c:\program files\acad2000\sample
  • Drive letter, path and file name: for example, c:\program files\acad2000\sample\opera.dwg
  • UNC Network Path: for example, \\server\acad2000\sample

Note: According to AutoCAD or AutoCAD LT Help, ADCNAVIGATE supports remote domains or workgroups if you have the target domain or workgroup mapped to a drive letter.

I hope this helps.

Thank you. Does that change apply to the tool palettes as well?

For that, I am not sure.  I will see what I can find out and get back to you, unless someone else on here beats me to the answer.
