I am trying to print from my model space using a window for the plot area.  I have selected multiple different types of Printer/plotters from DWG to PDF.pc3 to Bluebeam PDf to my actual Brother Printer.  I have selected monochrome.stb in my Plot style table.  Then when I print it comes out in full color.

Under the DWG to PDF.pc3 I can not find anything in properties to turn off color.  I thought selecting the monochrom.stb would do that, but it is not.  I just keep getting full color.

With my actual printer and BlueBeam PDF I was able to turn off the color and switch it to Black and White, but it then prints in Greyscale NOT black and white.

I have tried switching plot style to BlackandWhite.stb, but what every I select it prints in full color regardless of the printer/plotter.

Does anyone have any ideas of what to do?

Thanks.

In your Plot Options, is "Plot with Plot Styles" checked?
What color scheme displays in Print Preview?

Yes Plot with plot styles is checked.  When I hit the print preview button all of the colors I am using in my layers show up even though I have monochrome.stb selected in my Plot Style Table.  I tried unchecking Plot with plot styles and still shows up in color.

Did you specify Index colors or True Colors for your layers?

What is the source of the drawing?

Setup your plotter to print "black and white only"

I've done that.  I set up my printer and my BlueBeam PDF to black and white only.  What happens is it prints in greyscale not black and white.  I need it in black and white because the greyscale produces very faint grey lines that do not photo copy well.

I am using Index Colors.  I created the file from one of the standard CAD templates, Tutorial-iMfg.

Can you attach a copy to your next post?  I'd like to take a shot at printing it to a PDF myself.

I finally figured it out.  In my Layer properties, the Plot Styles were all set to Normal for each layer.  Thus when trying to print in monochrome (Style #1) nothing was happening because layers were using the Normal setting to print.  I have since changed my Plot Style in layer properties to Style#1 and it works great (does what I want it to do).

I really need to get more classes on plotting.  The classes I took on AutoCad at my local community college didn't go over anything on plotting as their printers were down so the instructor decided to skip all sections pertaining to plotting.  And now it is coming back to haunt me.

Thanks so much for the help.  Having me look at my layer color properties was instrumental in diagnosing problem.
