Hi everyone, I am trying to create a dynamic block where I can change the diameter of a pipe, while keeping the insulation around it always 20mm. I have managed to scale the whole thing, but would really love some guidance on how I can keep the insulation (grey) the same size, but make the pipe (orange) a different size. I can't seem to find the constraints menu, if this is involved? Looking at the guides, they haven't been that useful so you're my only hope. Many thanks for any assistance. |

Hi, I'm new to this forum and just came across this posting. Its a bit late but here's how to accomplish this using a few Parameters and actions, most of which you already had in the block so it was just a few tweaks to get it there.
The pipe ID and OD scaling parameter/actions were fine just as they were. (I only renamed them for clarity) I replaced the polar stretch action with a simple stretch action and selected the the grip for the Pipe OD parameter and then set this parameter 'chain action' to yes. This allows the Pipe ID to operate the Pipe OD. This maintains their relationship to each other as the pipe ID changes.
